Take a break from the holiday crowds with family activities celebrating the winter season at Rio Rancho’s City Center! The Winterfest Celebration is a fun way to kick off the holidays. Starting at Noon at the Santa Ana Star Center there will be free ice skating, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, and the annual “Home for The Holidays” animal adoptions. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, there will be a holiday children’s carnival under the tent, located in the future “Campus Park”. At 5:00 PM the City Center plays host to one of New Mexico’s largest nighttime holiday parades. Attracting nearly 100 entries and hundreds of spectators, the parade will feature marching bands, beautifully decorated lighted floats, and fireworks! The route will take the parade from the Santa Ana Star Center and circle North in front of City Hall, West on King Boulevard, and South in front of HP. This is truly a special event, and one that shouldn’t be missed!
