Rio Rancho’s Pork & Brew Wins ‘Outstanding Event’ Award
RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The New Mexico Hospitality Association recognized the City of Rio Rancho’s Pork & Brew event as the ‘2017 Outstanding Event’ at the annual Top HAT (Hospitality and Tourism) Awards Gala. There were over 300 nominations, across a number of categories, and other finalists in the ‘Outstanding Event’ category included the Historic Route 66 Fall Fiesta (Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce); House of Halloween (Meow Wolf); Light Among the Ruins (Village of Jemez Springs); and Bear Week/Bear Festival (Pajarito Environmental Education Center).
“The NM Hospitality Association naming Pork & Brew as the ‘2017 Outstanding Event’ highlights the quality of Rio Rancho’s signature event, and recognizes the tremendous work put forth by many City departments and the Santa Ana Star Center staff,” said Mayor Gregg Hull. “This award, in addition to Pork & Brew being featured on the national television show, Carnival Eats, is a huge honor and I couldn’t be happier.”
Visit Rio Rancho and the City of Rio Rancho will look to build on the success of the past few years, as next year will mark the 15th year of Pork & Brew and will take place the weekend prior to July 4th.
The Pork & Brew event is a gathering of local, regional, and national participants competing and selling food items. The New Mexico Top HAT Awards Gala is an annual dinner and awards ceremony that celebrates the top hospitality and tourism individuals, businesses, and teams.
