[ARCHIVED] Keep New Mexico True

As we continue to move into the summer months, more people are venturing outdoors to experience the beauty of New Mexico while social distancing. It’s a great thing to see so many residents and visitors who wish to explore New Mexico’s natural beauty. Eliminating litter from our open spaces helps us preserve a clean and beautiful New Mexico, and we need your help to Keep New Mexico True.

Some of our parks, forests, trails and lakes are seeing increased litter, and we all need to do our part to reduce litter. If you are planning on exploring any of our parks, trails, lakes or open spaces, please remember these tips to help reduce litter:

  • Pack only the essentials
  • Keep trash packed away so the wind doesn’t blow it away
  • Be prepared to bring your trash with you in case trash receptacles are full
  • Watch and share this video
